The most delicious Christmas + New year!

HAPPY NEW YEAR FRIENDS!! I hope everyone had a lovely Christmas + New Year, regardless if you celebrated or not, with family/friends or just by yourself. If you all the very best for this new year to come!

This Christmas we had so much food that I almost had daily stomach aches due to all it. The food was just that good and I really enjoyed it.

For Christmas eve I made the traditional Norwegian Christmas crispy pork belly. I had it with a small side of mushroom stew and a potato gratin. The next day I ate a HUGE 700g salmon with a very small side of spaghetti. Then on what some of you would call “Boxing day”, Nathan and I had been invited to a family dinner together with the brother’s family at their dads place. They a nice cold started with smoked salmon and surumi (crab sticks), and then a nice assortment of various foods such as lam, chicken legs, veal, beans, mushrooms and croquettes. We also got some nice Christmas gifts. I got a gnome and Nathan got 2 boxes for sugar canes.

The day after the dinner we started on what would be our dinner for the next 4 days. The famous Dutch + Belgian Christmas meal: Gourmet. It where you buy a bunch of raw meats, veggies, bread, cheese etc… and then then you cook it all on the middle of the table on a small grill. Grocery stores usually sell like different sets with different meats during the holidays. We got one from out local store and one that we ordered from a butchery. All that food lasted us 4 whole days.

For new years we just decided to do a takeaway order, because we didn’t really have any proper meals left and I didn’t want to have to make something since I was streaming, so we just ordered some Indian foods. I had lamb tikka masala and Nathan tried their strongest dish called “Bangalore lams phall”. He said it was indeed really spicy. After we had eaten and when the clock was closing up to midnight. We went out on to the bridge that we always go to, to see some fireworks. There were a lot more than last year, which was nice. We stood there for about 10 min before heading in. Spent the rest of the night doing some more gaming and wishing all my friends a happy new year.

To round it all up. This holiday was filled with so much delicious foods and great moments with friends.

As some of you might know, I lost my dad at the beginning of the 2025 due to his terminal illnesses (Pulmonary fibrosis) and many of my friends has also lost someone close to them, so I felt quite early that this year were going to be a rough one. Within the past 6 months both my sister and my mum got into a car accident where they both got hit by cars, plus my cousin who just gave birth to her first daughter also had a lot of issues where the infant couldn’t breath properly due to an unknown infection. They are all doing alright and recovering, but yea. It has indeed been a rough one and I can’t wait to just move on and hope that this one will be better and filled with less sadness.

So I wanted to thank everyone who has read my various post throughout the year of 2025. Thanks to the ones that stopped by one or several of my streams. You all made my year so much better than I thought it would ever get. Cheers to you and to a better new year!!

Christmas Market 2025

This weekend Nathan and I went into town to check out the yearly Christmas market, and I streamed the experience for the first time!

We headed out around 5pm so that we wouldn’t be home too late. We traveled by bike as usual. The weather was kind of cold and sad, because it was slightly raining and somewhat windy. When we arrived in the city, we just parked them. There were a lot of people out that evening, which makes sense since it’s was the weekend right before Christmas. We visited the 3 Groenplaats and the Grotemarkt.

While walking we were moving from one spot to another, I briefly lost sight of Nathan and started panicking a bit. Thankfully we found each other pretty fast and we didn’t get separated again xD. The booths around the markets were mostly the same as every year. Lot of cloths, food and some variety booths here and there. Even though it wasn’t that much of variety, I still liked it a lot. The giant Christmas looked as beautiful as always. We were there for about 1.5h. We decided to stop by KFC and get a bucket + sides for our dinner. Since there were a lot of people out, we had to wait quite a bit. As to what we ended up buying. We got a huge box of those coconut cream balls, some truffle desserts and a Piña Colada flavored tea.

After we had gotten our food and the stuff, we headed home. The rest of the night we just relaxed with some games and ate some tasteful KFC chicken ^^

I hope you all are having a wonderful holiday regardless if you are celebrating or not. The year is almost over and I for one can’t wait for the new one to begin.

Just a quick trip to Norway

Last week I got back from my very short Norway trip. I was only gone for 3 days and those days went by so fast that I didn’t see the need write daily, but rather just sum it all up in one post.

So I travelled out on Sunday evening. Did the usual bus into the city and then train to the airport. The plane went as schedule and everything went smoothly. It was an evening plane from around 7-8pm. I arrived at my family home at around 10pm. Not much happened since it was late.

The first official day was spent on going for nice morning walk with my mother and a friend of hers. We didn’t walk up to “Grefsenkollen” this time, but different one. It doesn’t have a specific name, but it’s another one I used to do a lot growing up. It was nice 1h walk, then the rest of the afternoon was spent on completely defrosting and cleaning out the fridge. We moved all the food out, took out all the shelfs and cleaned the entire thing from top to bottom as well as putting a pot of boiling water in the freezer to remove all built up frost and ice. Evening was just spent with chilling and continue watching “Ginny and Georgia”.

On Tuesday we went for yet another walk, but not with the friend this time. We walked a bit longer than the previous day. When we were done with that, we went shopping at the nearby shopping mall. It was a late birthday present from my mum. We walked around in some clothing store and I eventually got myself 4 nice jumpers/long armed shirts. They looked really nice and I liked the fit of all of them. I also got a small wallet which I can use when I don’t want to drag my huge one around. My mother had an appointment at 5 pm, so we didn’t take too long. This evening was mostly used to repeat some stuff for my exam the next day and watch more Netflix.

My last day was the day of my Psychology exam. The day didn’t really go to much else. I met up at the mentioned place at 4:30. I registered at the front and then it was mostly a waiting game. I had to wait a bit over 1h before I could pick my assignment, and then I got 30 min of prep. I ended up getting the assignment to discuss “nature vs nurture”.

I was given a case about a pair of twins who went to the same school, were both well liked amongst their friends and extrovert, but one of them didn’t enjoy school and found it hard to go to class while the other one was doing great at school. Their parents divorced when they were 4 and that’s when the twins started living separate from each other, which was hard for the one that was also struggling at school.

I tried my best to answer as well as I could. I brought up a lot of different points and some theory, but I did have a hard time of remember the name of some specific theory or model. I felt bad about how I almost couldn’t answer any of their follow up questions. It was however given a word I had never seen in my 1 year of studying. However, I ended up getting a strong 3 out of 6. It’s not the best grade, but it does mean that I pass, which was the most important thing. After my exam my mother and I ordered sushi, finished the 1st season and then I just spent the entire night watching a different series until I had to leave for the airport again on Thursday morning.

On Thursday I spent the first half of the day just arriving back home to Belgium, and the second half I spent on attending Nathans concert. It was really fun. Despite being quite tired since I only was working on 2h of sleep, I tried my best to be energetic. I even jumped and danced during KARO’s performance. I did have a lot of fun and I also took a lot of photo’s which sadly didn’t turn out as good as usual since I was using my own camera, but they weren’t half bad either

The most delicious delicious birthday dinner!

Yesterday Nathan and I had made a dinner reservation at the “all you can eat” place called Hechi and even though it was a bit on the pricey side, the food there was delicious!!

Our reservation was for 6pm, so we just hopped on our bikes at about 5:45. The place wasn’t too far, but it was still quite windy outside, so my hands were already freezing even after just 10 min of being outside. We walked into the restaurant and immediately got greeted with food. We sat down at our table, took off our jackets and started walking around looking at all the food.

My first plate was a full meat platter. I had crispy duck, deep fried duck, beef and some potatoes, and it was the best tasting dish of the night. Next up, I tried the “self made” wok. I went with udon noodles, bean sprout, mushrooms and beef and I also picked dumpling as a side. At this point, I was slowly getting full, but not quite there yet. My 3rd plate was another meaty one and by the end of that plate I was feeling quite full. I had one last dessert plate before I was done for the night. I ended with 4 full portioned plates with food, which I would say I ate my food worth the price. Nathan also had 4 plates of food.

After that we headed home, laid on the bed for like 1h before just chilling with some League of legends for the rest of the night. It was an overall a really nice experience. I really hope we get to go there again, but I do hope they swap out the dishes every now and then to keep it somewhat fresh ^^
