Birthday party with 16 people and 40 dogs

This weekend my cousin celebrated her birthday. It was being held outside together with family members from both her and her partner and around 40 dogs. It was really fun but embaresing at times ❤

My family and I got invited to a birthday party that were being held outside for my cousin. Unfortunately with my dads current condition my parents couldn’t join, but me and my sister decided that it would be nice to be with family and be outside. The celebration was being held in the woods with a lovely BBQ. It required my mum to drive us since it was pretty far away and would have take us way too long time to go there by public transport. When we arrived at the parking station we had a bit of trouble figuring out where to go since there were so many paths and we had never been there before, but after walking back and forth for around 15 min we finally found the right path and were on our way.

When we arrived at the campsite we saw a lot of familiar faces from family members. Most of them we hadn’t seen since Christmas, but other we hadn’t seen since me and my sister was very young. The people attending were my second cousin, our aunt and uncle, my uncles two sons and their entire family which consist of partners and 5 kids, my cousins partners, mother, father and sister to the partner of the birthday girl, my ex-uncle (aka my cousins father) and his girlfriend. We were total around 16 people and around 40 dogs too.

My ex-uncle have always been a fan of dags and he is into dog racing. For those who doesn’t know what that inntale it means you have one carriage, then a line with around 9 dogs pulling it through a snowy trail. Throughout the years he have gotten more and more dogs and now he has a new girlfriend who are also interested in the same things. Thankfully most of the dogs where kept in away for the main duration of the party.

The entire celebration was amazing, lots of good foods and desserts. Lovely company and it was so nice to finally get to be outside and hang with people. Since lockdown it has been way less of that happening. The dogs were always super nice and played around the huge area. My cousin got some amazing gift that she could use for when she was on her outdoor trips. Everything was nice and joyful before the storm.

Since it was outside on a public campsite there arrived other people with their families. It is also that time of the year where dogs have to be on a restraint, but they thought it would be fine because the dogs were pretty well behaved. Then it got a bit out of hand from time to time because some dogs went over either out of curiosity, greeting the strangers dog or try to steal their food, There were a couple of times where we had to call the dog back or go and get it away from them since they were being annoying. Which when piled up became a bit embarrassing, plus that dogs aren’t always quite so their were also a lot of barking happening too. The most embarrassing moment was after most of the party had left my ex-uncle decided to put out the rest of the dogs so that they could get some fresh air and do their stuff. Now just all 40 dogs on a line and most of them barking or crying for food and stench from them when decided to go number two. Even my cousin got embarrassed at that time. They way they ate was that he had two giant doggo rolls as they are called that was total for 18kg and then he used an axe to chop them into big chunks of meat which he just through to the dogs. So it was not only party for the people but also a dog party xD.

By that time we were about to leave. The rest was going to spend the night because they were heading out for a trip in the morning together.

All in all it was a great day and I had a lot of fun hanging around and talking to people. We are still waiting and hoping that stuff will open up throughout this month. I wish you all a happy last week of April.

New look, same me!

Recently I decided to freshen up my hair. It had already started to grow since I last cut it in October of last year so me and my mum booked an appointment together which was really nice.

I really don’t like to do a lot to my hair on a day to day basis so when it comes to getting a haircut I don’t really do it unless my mum wants me to. So that means that it usually takes up to 6 months to 1 year for me to get my hair done. The other day my mother looked at me and was wondering when I was going to get a haircut or what my plans for the hair was. I said that I hadn’t thought about it since I’m really fine with how my hair was. She thought it looked a bit messy and wanted me to book an appointment, but with everything going on lately I forgot it until recently when my mother came to me and said “Hey, I have an appointment on Tuesday do you want to see if they have time for you too?” and by then I just thought “Yeah, why not” So we did it.

The hairdressers my mum goes to is in town close to where she works so we had a nice little mother and daughter moment on our way down. I told her about my plans for the future and was wandering what her opinions were. She agreed and said she supported my decision as long as I learned how to stand on my two feet. I will tell you guys about them when we are moving closer to it so for now you guys just have to wait.

The hairdressers was really nice although I am terrible at small talk so for me it was very awkward. We talked about the past week and everything that had happened during the lockdown. They needed to give my hair a cure since it was very dry, but I didn’t mind. I was really happy with the result, but I will probably have to go to the hairdressers again before the summer break in around one and a half month. All in all it was a very successful day and I always feel very fresh right after a new look, they even gave me mini curls as a added flare.

Easter of 2021

This year we had a very special easter. With Oslo still being in lockdown it wasn’t a lot people could do, but our family decided to have a small celebration regardless.

Most of this years easter was spent at home. Usually when my sister and I were kids our family used to spend easter together with our Aunt, Uncle and our two cousins. We would go skiing together and settle down in front of a campfire and eat some hot dogs. After that we would go for an egg hunt. I do miss those simpler times.

This year we just had our internal family. We mostly stayed at home since there is not much to do. I did however get to go back for work for a short period of time, but I do hope that everything will start opening soon so that our days can become a bit more “Normal”

The best thing about this years easter was all the great food. We had our traditional lam legg for Easter eve and then we had some lovely leftovers for an amazing lunch the other day. Me and my sister also got an easter egg each which was packed with lovely sweets. At the end it was a nice calm easter with the family.

Life under lockdown!

It has been over two months since the lockdown here. On the 23rd of January the last day at work and I have been temporary unemployed ever since. This is what i have done to keep myself busy…

It’s been a long couple of months with a lot of up and down, but I have managed to keep my mental fairly positive throughout this entire period. These are the things that helped me to keep my mind off the negative and focus on the positive.

Going outside

First I decided that i would start going for regular walks around where I live. We are still able to do that so get some fresh air is always nice. You feel energetic and I love to just walk down by the river while jamming to own music and sometimes I join my family and we spend a nice time together.

Working on my stream

Second, I started working more on my stream when it comes to things I can do to improve my current stream. I updated the overlays a bit, worked on my chatbot and started to be more consistent when it comes to the game I play. Recently I commissioned something new which I’m excited to reveal for you guys soon.

Friends, family and Boyfriend

Last but not least spending some time with friends, family and my amazing boyfriend has been very important. Feeling that I still have people to talk to and spend time with. My amazing boyfriend has kept me company every single day. We speak for hours with each other about the most random things and we also play a lot of games together or with our friends . When you have fun time moves so much faster and suddenly it’s already the next day,

All these things has helped me cope with everything has happened. I am still looking forward for when everything opens up again so that I can go back to work. Now that more and more people are getting vaccinated, hopefully the boarders won’t take too long to open either so I can travel and visit my boyfriend, but until then we just have to wait and make the best out of it.

I wish you all a great day and that you’re all are healthy. Let’s wish that we will be able to get our summer vacation. Stay safe and comfy ♡

Finally a girls night out

Recently Oslo has been under strict lock down due to the recent discovery of the mutated virus. Our store got closed so I haven’t seen my co-workers for so long. We decide to change that!

For Christmas the shopping center gave everyone a gift card as a compensation for not being able to host the yearly party. The gift card gave us one full meal at any given place that was a part of the center. My boss suggested that we girls could use it for a girls night. That way we weren’t too many people. The date was originally set to the 30th of January, but because of the sudden restrictions it got moved to the 13th of February (aka this Saturday)

We decided on going to a restaurant called “Sumo” where they served Asian cuisine. It was great to spend some time with people and get out of the house. I’m usually not interested in joining the social things because of being too shy, but recently I have decided to move out of my comfort zone. Unfortunately not everyone was able to come since some had plans, got sick or already used their gift card on something else, but we were 9 people which I think is a perfect amount. It was really nice to reconnect with them and the entire night was soo much fun. The food was also incredible delicious. I had a 3 course meal with drink to it.

Combo Starte: Spring rolls (one chicken & one salmon) & tempura scampi. Served with chili mayo, sweet chili, teriyaki sauce & salad.
Sticky Pork Ribs: Caramelized pork ribs served with a portion of fried rice.
Chocolate fondant, mango sorbet. Served with fresh strawberry and sauce.

The best thing about that night wasn’t the food but the social aspect. I never thought I would like it as much as I did. Struggling with social anxiety I thought I would feel so awkward and leave as soon as I was finished eating, but I sat it out with the others until around 11pm. My co-worker are amazing people and I’m so happy I get to work with them. For the first time I have a job where I not only love the work I’m doing, but also the people I’m working with.

Can’t wait to get back to work and everything can start to go back to normal. I’m set to start this Thursday, but we still need to wait and see. I just want this and next month can fly by so that April can come and I can hopefully travel to Belgium.

My first Dutch Valentines

Happy Valentines day everyone. I know I haven’t posted in a while, but I have been vary busy with everything that has happened these couple of months here in Norway, but it haven’t been all bad.

I recently got a new boyfriend. He is from Belgium so it’s a long distance relationship which is really hard during these times, but we do speak every day so it’s not too bad. We have been together almost a month and I honestly can’t see my life with someone else. We have so much in common when it comes to interests and hobbies, but I also feel like we are on the same page on almost everything. I can say something to him which I’m afraid that might seem a bit crazy and he will not judge me, but he most of the time he thinks about the same things as me. There are so many other things I love about him, but if I were to mention them all this post will be too long xD

This is his first time ever celebrating valentines with someone overall and since it’s long distance then it’s a bit harder to do something, but we tried to make the best out of a bad situation. I decided that I wanted my present for him to be something I mad and since I stumbled on a very cute tutorial of how to draw a bear holding a hear, but with a twist. I drew the drawing and added the text “I love you, so much” in Dutch. I was going to add a heart-warming text to it too then my friend suggested to add a personal recorded message. I felt so awkward filming but it turned out nice and he loved it which mad me really happy.

We just spent our just spent the day just how we spend every other day, Being in a call together and play some games. We did however decide to watch a movie. We both prefer watching movies in real life but since it’s valentines we mad an exception. Well all in all a very successful day and I couldn’t have asked for a better person to spend it with.

I hope you guys have had a lovely day no matter if you spend it alone or with someone. Remember that it is just as important to love yourself than to give someone else your love and hopefully this will all be over soon so we can meet up with people again.

New year with new opportunities

It’s been a bit above 2 weeks since 2021 started and a lot of things have happened in that time. Both for me personally and for our country.

The day before new years we had a massive disaster where a small area in Norway was victim to a kind of avalanche of clay where basically the ground just vanished under their feet. 1000 people where without a roof over their heads and we even had 10 casualties. So now we just try to recover what we lost and we have gotten a lot of help from both Sweden and Denmark.

In terms of work there has been a lot to do which is the reason why I haven’t had the time to publish a post here lately together with trying to grow my stream. We have almost hit 500 followers which I’m so happy for. Been playing a lot with friends and made some nice changes to the overlay etc.

When it comes to work we have now gotten into a new plan where I will be shared with the other departments in and around Oslo. What that means is that I can now pick up shifts else where too. Which both gives me more work experience and more money. We also talked about how the might be an opening on one of the departments and if I don’t get that one the company is going to open a brand new store soon.

So this year is looking more promising than the last years plus we have started vaccinating people now and soon my father would be able to get it and we can relax more around the house.

That was all from me for now. I will see you guys next time and remember you can always pop by my stream. I stream every Monday, Wednesday and Friday. Stay safe and healthy.

Christmas celebration 2020 ʕ·ᴥ·ʔ

Christmas is over and all celebration is done. This year we decided to be only us 4 within the family. It was nice and calming for a change, but I hope next year we can be more people.

I started my Christmas off with some games and streaming until I suddenly had to go to the store because my mum couldn’t fine the red kale or the sausages we were going to have for dinner. I ran around in 2 degrees weather trying to reach the store before they closed. Luckily I did and we got what we needed. For the rest of that afternoon I just spent some times with friends while my mum was preparing dinner and laying the table. We had put up the tree the day before and put all our presents under it.

Me and my sister decorate the tree every year together.

For dinner we had our tradition rib steak with potato’s, red kale, brussels sprouts, sossiser (mini sausage) and meat caked. It was soo delicious and I ate until my stomach was soo full I couldn’t eat any more. I had mostly meat since I don’t like red kale or brussels sprouts.

Left side: Rib and potato’s, Right Side: Sossiser and meat cakes!

After dinner we took a little break to let the food settle. Me and my family talked about how this year has been with all the changes for the family and also in the world. When the time was right we prepared our self for the gifts. This year I got a warm onesie from cousin, some training gear from my parents with the caption “I hope you will join us for more walks” and some tea and a bottle of wine from my sister. If I were to pick one favourite it would be the onesie.

You can say I’m a special snowflake

All in all a great celebration with tasty food, wonderful presents and amazing people. I enjoyed myself and I feel soo lucky to have such an wonderful family. We even got some snow which was a Christmas miracle and made the Christmas vibe even more intense.

Winter wonderland

I hope you guys had a great holiday. No matter if you celebrate Christmas with presents or without, with or without friends and family. This year has been tough but we are closing in on a new year. New year new opportunities.

Goodbye wisdom tooth and hello family party

These past weeks leading up to Christmas has been pretty hectic which is why I haven’t been able to post as much as I wanted to. There has been a lot to do at work and little time to play games and stream, but now that the holidays are kicking inn there will be more time to relax.

I pulled my wisdom tooth a couple of weeks ago. It wasn’t planned, but when I met up to my appointment they said that if I had experience any pain from them then they should be removed because they are crocked and pushes me again the neighbour teeth. I couldn’t feel anything during the operation, but afterwards my entire left side felt numb and I had also swollen up like crazy. It’s been 11 days I’m still a bit swollen. Needed to take a couple of days off work when it was at it’s worse. When your work is built around a lot of talking and smiling that becomes a bit dificult with one swollen cheek. I still get those icing in my teeth when I drink something or breath in through my mouth which is super annoying. I can’t wait until it all goes away!

We also had our family over for a little pre-Christmas celebration since we won’t be together on the 24th. It was my aunt and uncle, my two cousins and Nicolai who is the boyfriend to one of them. We got together had a lovely talk. In Norway it’s a tradition in some families to eat Rakfisk the day before Christmas.

Rakfisk is a Norwegian fish dish made from trout or char, salted and autolyzed for two to three months, or even up to a year. Rakfisk is then eaten without cooking and has a mild and slightly salty flavour and strong smell. Often served with aquavite

Wikipedia

I ended up eating some fish, but most sausages the taste is a bit too strong for me. After we had all eaten decided to open each others present to make a fake Christmas. From my aunt and uncle I got a crime experience where we can go to a location to solve a crime or as the tickets mention

“Find my inner Sherlock Holmes”

From my first cousin I got a pair for training shoes which I can use at work which was perfect because me and my mum was just about to buy new ones, but now we don’t have to. I gave my aunt and uncle lids made of silicon so that they can stretch to almost any size bowl, and for my cousins I got them each a mini massage. Everyone seemed happy and the evening was a hug success in itself. Next big night will be the 24th. Can’t wait to eat myself fat on all the food and open presents. It’s been a hard year so I think it’s important to have it special during holidays no matter if you spend it alone, with family, friends or a special someone. It’s important to share those cheers with everyone.

I wish you all a merry Christmas. May it be a joyful celebration with the people you love. Remember that we got this year has been hard for everyone and it’s important to share the love.

The vacation week I needed

Today was my first day back at work after a week vacation. Since I’m an apprentice up until start of November I couldn’t apply for any vacation, but as soon as I became a part time employee I decided to take the first week of December off, because I want to work as much as possible during the holidays. My position now is that they call or I book shifts that either the boss sends out or other colleges, but I also have a second contract which allows me to be at work on days I don’t have any booked shift. At the end of the day I get payed from both work and this system called NAV and I get to meet up at work everyday. It was soo great to be able to take some time off

The best pair of winter shoes I have ever owned.

After heavy lifting for 5 months of heave lifting and a lot of working I started feeling more and more exhausted at work no matter if I slept for 3h or 6h beforehand. So since it’s close to Christmas and during these time there are a lot of people and much to do especially this year with most people/families staying home I decided to take a week off before everything comes rumbling down. I didn’t do much during my days off. I just caught up on a lot of sleep, streamed everyday and went shopping on Friday. I was going to do a Charity week on stream, but the timing was bad since one of my friends had just had an event and I ended up getting sad that my event didn’t get that much hype, but it was nice and chill. I got to catch up with a lot of friends and games

Friday I decided to get out of the house so me and my mum went shopping for my late birthday present. Instead of giving me a coat we decided to give me a pair of shoes since winter i coming and I needed something warmer that trainers. We met up in town and went to a store called “Urban” The lady working there was super nice and complimented my hair color which I always love hearing. My mum and I already had our eyes on a pair from Timberland which looked really nice. Thankfully they had it in that store so I tried them out and it was fit with first shoe. We decided that we actually just take them and I’m super happy with them. They are warm, not to big and comfortable.

The rest of the vacation I just sat at home playing games and ate a lot of candy. So I’m happy to be back at work moving again xD

Hope you guys had a lovely week and staying safe no matter where in the world you are. Remember if you wanna check out twitch I’m live every Monday, Wednesday and Friday @ twitch.tv/yannani. Come and say hey ❤
